Update

How is everybody today?  Great I hope.  Our big launch is only two weeks away.  Our launch is the best day to invite new people to our church.  All of the kids programs will be back up and running again and I will be speaking on John 3:16.  We will also have all of our new signs in place and some Drive Church stickers for you to pick up and use to generate conversation.  If you did not get a T shirt on August 23rd you can pick it up after the service next week, Sunday, September 13.  We already have more Drive invitation cards and those will be out for you tomorrow.

Next Sunday we will also be having baptisms after the 10 am service.  I you would like to be a part of this day and have not already experienced believer's baptism, let me know tomorrow.  Also check out our webpage explaining our baptism experience at www.drivechurch.org/about/baptism/ .

I know you are all getting geared up for the big launch on September 20.  Lots of meetings are going on and new volunteers are getting orientated to their jobs.  I am praying that God will give you a wonderful experience and that you will see your relationship with Him in a new light as you serve by bringing others closer to Him.  Drive Church will soon be flying down the highway with your help.  Be sure to pray for God's Spirit to empower you to serve Him in His strength.

See you tomorrow everyone!  Thank you so much for your dedication and passion.  Coldplay opener tomorrow!  Its gonna be a great day.

Update... big day at church tomorrow

Well as you know, tomorrow is a big day for us at church.  It is the day we announce our new name to our current congregation and begin the countdown to the fall launch of that new name and the restart of Upstreet and our children's ministries.  We should count on reaching many new people for God this fall with all of the work and preparation that has gone into the last few months.  With ORANGE and all the new volunteers... with our new name and the amazing new look in the auditorium you will see tomorrow, God has equipped us to reach out as never before.  We have decided to change our name to aid us in reaching the lost.  To make our foyer more welcoming.  Tomorrow will be a great day and I certainly hope to see all of you there.

Also, tomorrow our church band will be playing at the battle of the bands at the Western Idaho Fair.  This is a great opportunity for our church to get some exposure in the community.  I will be giving out T shirts tomorrow to all of the adults attending our church services.  My thought is that we would all go to the fair at 3 p.m., when the band is playing, and wear our new T shirts.  This is a great way to support the band, as attendance is how they win at the battle of the bands, and advertise the new church name.  Try and make it out for some fun at the fair and to make our worship team smile.  Again, its tomorrow at 3 p.m. at the Western Idaho Fair.

One week from tomorrow, I begin a three week series called Innerspace.  We will be taking a look at the identity and role of the Holy Spirit in our lives.  These next three weeks leading up to our launch on September 20 are very important regrouping weeks after the busy summer.  Lets all jump back in and begin inviting friends and acquaintances to visit.

Please pray for Daryle Sexton who continues to recover from surgery.

See you tomorrow!  God bless!

Update

So as you know my family and I are heading out of town this week for our family vacation. The kids are all excited and packing as I speak. People are running around looking for all of the last minute items they have remembered they want to have with them. We are heading to Deer Lake in Northern Washington and will be there for the next two weeks. Please pray for our safety and that our rest would refuel us for the rockin' awesome months ahead at church.

Our children's ministry leader and good friend, Steve Marlow, will be speaking the next two Sundays at church. Steve has poured his heart and soul into serving God at our church over the last year and has earned the right to be heard by all of us. He is speaking this week on "The Path." Is where you are and what you are doing right now in life random and meaningless or is it a part of a greater direction and path that your life is taking? Next week... THINK ORANGE!! Come here what Steve has to say about the future of our children's and youth ministry here at the church. Trust me, you will love these two weeks. I have already heard Steve, and these messages are great.

Donny and Katie Hood are new to the church and are proud to announce the birth of their second child and first girl, Lily Mae, born last Sunday. Mom and baby are doing great and may be in church Sunday. The Hood's are new to the area as well, so our church has the opportunity to be a real blessing to them just by being excited for them and communicating that to them. If you want to bring Lily Mae a present, I'm sure that would be great too.

Daryle Sexton has surgery on July 31st and Heidi Braden is still home recovering from her surgery. Please pray for both of these folks.

Finally, Sunday, August 23rd, is going to be another important day that I want everyone in church who can possibly make it. I will be announcing a name change and giving the concept behind it, as well as highlighting where our church has been and where we are going. I need everyone to be here that day to get it firsthand.

God bless you all and thank you for your prayers for us while we are away. See you when we get back!

Church Update

Hello Again Everybody!

Tomorrow our kids are having their Talent Show.  If they want to participate they need to bring their talent with them.  Don't forget props or whatever goes along with that.  We are also starting a two week series tomorrow on the basics of the Christian Faith.  Seriously, I you have a friend or family member that does not know Jesus, tomorrow would be a great day to bring them to church.  Also, if you could all mark August 23 on your calendar as a Sunday that your pastor wants everyone who can possibly make it to be in church, that would be great.  I have something exciting to talk to everyone about that day.

I hope everyone had a great fourth of July.  Those of you on vacation... soak it up, we hope you are having a great time!  In a few short weeks we will be thinking about getting back to school and back to our routines.  I'm praying for all of you to have a great rest of the summer... and to keep God in focus in your hearts and minds.  It won't be long until Upstreet and Xtreme are back up and running.  Speaking of that, pray for Heidi Braden to have a good recovery from her surgery.  She is home getting better now.

You will be noticing some improvements to our Auditorium in the coming weeks.  Tomorrow there will be a partially built stage resting over in the corner.  Be careful around that.  Also, pray about our growth that we will be experiencing this fall.  Space is going to be a problem before we know it.  Pray for God to open doors and give us wisdom.

Congratulations to Charlotte Messenbrink.  She will be getting married next Saturday.  Pray for Chris and Charlotte as they begin their new life together.

You are all very important to me.  It is such a blessing to get to see you every Sunday.  If you haven't been to church in a while, we miss you!  Try to make it tomorrow!

God bless!

CCC Update

Hello Again,

Hope you have had a great week and are planning on having a fun 4th of July. What a blessing God has given us to allow us to live in this great country of ours. I am looking forward to seeing you all again this Sunday as we complete our series in the book of Proverbs. The thought this week will be about our trust in the scriptures contrasted to other things we could choose to trust. I hope that your faith in God's word is strengthened through this weeks message. Next week we are going to start a two week series on the simplicity of the Christian faith from the book of Romans. It would be a great time to bring a visitor who has questions about God.

Hey, I would like to ask all of you for a favor. Go to Starting Point. It is THE place to learn the basics about our church and what we believe in a casual, non threatening format. Even if you are not new to the church but aren't sure what you believe or your church believes, go and ask questions and enjoy the atmosphere. Starting Point meets every Sunday during the 10 am hour immediately following worship music. The group meets in the basement of the Upstreet building.

It will be great to have our band back this Sunday for some great music. I believe we have the best. God has really blessed us! Thanks guys for all your hard work.... and gals!

Big things are coming up this fall! We will be making many improvements to our worship environment thanks to a designated donation that came in. We will also be implementing a strategy that will be a great help in reaching the unchurched people around us who know they need something more in their life. Pray, pray, pray that God will bless our efforts to reach people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. All that we do, we do for His glory.

That is it for now. I prayed today for our church body as a whole... that God would keep our hearts soft during the distracting summer months and our eyes focused on Him. Thank you all for your faithfulness. It makes my heart happy.

CCC Update

Happy Summer!

Last Sunday was the first official day of Summer. It is good to see everyone coming to church during these busy summer months. We are having a great summer at church. The kids are having a blast in their "Live it Out" program. So far they've had Olympics and a Spider Man bouncy house! I almost skipped church last Sunday. In the main service we are in the middle of a series called "Timeless" discussing the timeless wisdom of Proverbs. This Sunday's message we will discover how to tell if we are wise or not.

We have a guest worship team coming to visit this Sunday. You may have heard them before... "Apple Hoarse" is their name. Our regular team has been invited to play at another church this Sunday and we thought "ok... just this ONCE!!". No, really we are happy to share our musicians with others (every now and then). Come this Sunday with a friend. These guys are a talented group of youngsters.

A special thanks to Tim Wonacott for the great job he is doing with our mowing and trimming around the property. He is out here every week for several hours doing a great job for us and the Lord. If you see him around, be sure and thank him for his hard work.

I'd also like to thank all of our Upstreet workers who are enjoying a well deserved rest in the summer time. They did a fantastic job last year with our kids. We are all indebted to you guys for the work you have done. We have THE BEST kids program in town thanks to you!

Praise the Lord we are seeing our offering climb and are starting to pay more on our mortgage now. Thank you for your faithful giving. Continue to pray for Heather Copner, who is recovering from surgery and Heidi Braden who goes in on July 7. Our thoughts and prayers are with both of you.

That's it for now... exciting things are just around the corner! See you Sunday

CCC Update

Hello Everybody!

Summer is upon us! Is your summer off to a great start? This Sunday we will be finishing up our series on the family with "Raising Idaho," a message on parenting. There is so much to say about being a parent we could not possible cover it all. We will, however, focus in on something that I think every child needs... a hero. How can we be heros to our kids? It is easier than you think.

Live it Out, our summer program for the kids, got off to a great start last Sunday. Rob and Heidi led the kids in a fun time of relays and games and had a bible lesson as well. This is a good time to bring kids to visit our church. The summer is going to be packed with fun activities for them during the 10 a.m. hour.

The Xtreme camping trip is coming up on June 26-28 for all of our teens. Great memories are built at times like these as well as lasting impressions about God and life. The kids are going to be up at lucky peak camping out, cooking out, boating, jet skiing, and worshipping around the camp fire. Make sure your teen knows all about this and is planning to go. Don't forget there is a web site for our teens with news and updates as well as inspiring posts at xtremeboise.com .

I know that many of you have not entered the Twitter universe and have no intention of doing so. If, however, you are up for some techno fun you can find me at ccbcboise on Twitter. If you follow me you will get daily updates from me about what is going on in my world and the church's. Also, check out the pastor's blog at http://timbrucesblog.blogspot.com/ . This is so much fun, I don't know how you can stand it.

Prayer and Thanksgiving: Thank the Lord and all of you for helping us meet our budget number in the month of May. Our final offering amount was $13,600! If we stay focused through the summer we will be well on our way to gaining ground for our exciting future. Lets all pray for two of our ladies with upcoming surgeries. Heidi Braden and Heather Copner will both be having surgery in the near future. Please pray for God to bless their doctors and give them full recovery as well as wisdom for all decisions they are faced with surrounding these treatments.

Looking forward to seeing you all Sunday...

Tim
